No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away.Romans 8:37-38

Hey all from the cold Newark, Delaware. I'm up here on main campus taking the 5-week winter semester. I'm taking Rock Music History and Earth Science.  My cousin, George, is up here so that's super nice. I'm staying in an apt with 2 girls. They are cool. It's so much colder up here, but maybe it's because it's a 15-20 minute walk everywhere. So I'll be up here till the spring semester. The schedule for the classes are pretty intense because they are everyday and longer, but it's cool. If I don't like the subject we're looking at - it'll be over by tomorrow. Yesterday I had my big ole campus map and was trying to find my way around. Boy didn't I look like a new kid :) Then last night I headed to the gym and george forgot to tell me that you aren't allowed to wear a sleeveless shirt - you can have shorts up to your rear but please, we can't see your upper arms :) So there I was running with my sweathshirt on :) shew - that was HOT! The room is set up really weird - there are mirrors covering the walls and then the treadmills are right beside eachother - VERY close and facing the mirror. So the whole time you are either looking at yourself, your neighbors :), or in the mirrors looking at what's going on behind you. I was running beside a chinese kid and black boy. The chinese kids ever growing sweat mark beginning at his neck kept me intrigued :) hehe!!!! It was almost to his belly button the time he got off - I was impressed. So that's pretty much what's going on with me - Oh and I gave up my plan to wear flipflops all winter - my lil toes about fell off yesterday - soooo cold!!! Well, just to let you know what alls going on. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years! Better go get to work!

Oh, what wonderful ideas will float through the mind of 2 college students while sitting through classes. This is probably when my mind is most active in creative thinking and not ususally on the road to academics! So, during one of these "thinking sessions," that we enjoy having way too much, we came up with this......

It all started with 7 cute kids and a lil icing!!

Dinnertime - we all dove into yummy pizza. Even Mattie seemed to enjoy it.

121_4790

Alil soda to wash it all down....

121_4791

Now is when the adventure begins....cutting out the cookies,  baking them, and the grand and messy finale of ice-ing them.

Benjamin and Evan seemed to have their own lil art at ice-ing the cookies. First, they would hide the cookie underneath a pile of icing. Then,  continue to lick the icing all up till the cookie could be seen and most of the icing was off the table. Melinda and I just watched them and laughed - until we responsibly thought..."maybe they shouldn't"...so then we just let them dump icing on the table and lick it up without the cookie hiding underneath. :)

And again....it's cute lil Mattie. This lil boy was absolutly adorable!!!! Well, the cookie decorating only lasted a short while - we should have known that the attention span of this age-group would tire after about a tray of cookies. So, Mel and I sat down to finish ice-ing the remaining PILE of cookies. Mattie was sitting on my lap and reaching, reaching, reaching. I was doing a good job of juggling him with one hand and mastering cookie decorating with the other - but wouldn't you know, he grabbed a whole container of those lil red, green, and white balls and pulled the whole container onto us and the rest all over the floor. We just howled laughing!!!! Weenie lil balls were soaring all over Bernie's floor. Then we got to stand up and shake!!!  Now would be a good time to thank Bernie for her hospitality in letting us have this at her home!!!!!

Some of the finished product

And the worn and weary women of the night! We had sooo much fun though. We might just adventure to do it again..... without the icing!

So, a question that we pose to the merlin schrock women of children. Who's children were more sick/wild in the hours following the party??

We Love our Family!!!!!

guys - I've was bit by a dog! Let me tell you....on september 4th, around 6pm I was taking a jog down the road. As I was coming around a corner, 3 labs came out running at me. I always heard that it's best if you don't show a dog you're scared. So I kept running trying not to trip over them. Well, they started snipping at me and one bit my leg. I hollered so that someone in the house would come out - no one did - so I got away from them and ran back home. They had punctured my skin and it was bleeding. Well, to make a long story short....after finding out later that night that the dog was a stray, talking to a nurse from my church, and taking her advice, dad and I headed to the ER around midnight. yuck! So after talking to the nurse and answering all the questions I was taken back to a bed to wait for my lil man doctor. As I was laying there, I thought of my dear friend Ramona. Wishing she would be my nurse that evening! :) And how she enjoys the blood and needles and pills. So I received a tetnas (sp?) shot and 5 rabies shots!!!!!! 1 in the arm, 2 on my rear, and 2 on the "wound" OUCH!!!! So, now I am beign treated for rabies - haha some of you who ask if I foam at the mouth or bark - no I do not!!! So for ramonas interest I will post some nice pics :)

She's looking much better now!!!

So, in other news. I am a University student and enjoying it for the most part. And one of the coolest things about school is that Melinda and I have 4 classes together - How awesome is that!!!!! Most of my classes are made up of girls - which at first thought wouldn't be so bad, but.........I'm beginning to wonder. We seriously need some guys in the education field. I'm taking 7 classes and learning that I love factual subjects - math, geography, etc. - not abstract ones where you read a book and sit in a circle talking about it and how it made you feel. I'm also working part-time at Sammies.

My sis also left today for RBC. I will really miss here. Now I'm home alone with the men. But I wish her well - I know she'll enjoy it. Behave yourself ash!! I love ya

Mindy - I dedicate this long-overdue post to you. Now see if you can post sooner :) Long time since I wrote here. Life in Delaware is so much more than expected. I am SO happy I'm back! It's been real good far. Unlike AL., I have so much stuff going on and people my age are everywhere - I love it!!!!! The only thing that is a plus for alabama over here - is for some reason my sleeping and getting-up-early habits are pretty shot up here. :) oh well! I'm enjoying my job pretty good - I work with a fun, young group and that keeps the hours of work going by quickly. This coming week, Melin, Amy, and I are all going to be counselors at a camp in MD. I'm really looking forward to it - it'll be fun to not have to work :) and be outside and sleeping in cabins. I'm alil worried about swimming in the pond though. And then one more week after that till Tony and Darrell come home. How awesome is that!!!! And just a side note - I'm the new primary sunday school superintendant  oh yea! More like - help us all! :) Well, this weekend a lot of my good buds are out at conference, so I am left alone without the usual people here to accompany me. Well, I better get to doing something. I'm at a loss for what I should be telling people on this thing - so if you have any questions - not too personal - please let me know and I will do my best to answer them in good fashion!! Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend. And Melin - hurry home and to camp - I miss you!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Well, I am back home in Delaware. It feels so good and right to be back here. After school ended, Caranda and I went to Gulf Shores, AL, for 4 days. We had a blast being beach bums. We even went para-sailing our last day. It was our last hurrah together before we both moved home. Doug flew down last wednesday and one of my best friends got married on saturday. Then we started up monday around 7:30am and arrived in my driveway around 12:30am. I was so glad that I was actually able to drive the whole way without sleeping - it was a miracle because I love to sleep in a vehicle. I was able to be home for my sis's grad party and then had a few days to organize myself here at home. I am back at Sammy's - the meat store - today was my first day. I have a meeting on monday with a rep for the University of DE. I"m alil nervous, but very excited. We had been emailing and now we get to meet and hash my next few years. It just feels so good to be back with my family, home church, and an abundance of young people. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself with so many people my age. And Melinda is home and Tony and Darrell will be coming soon too! Some of you may be wondering about my dear friend that is oh so close to my heart - Greg. Lord willing, if his classes all work out, he is planning on moving up here in Decemeber after he graduates from the University of West Florida with a degree in accounting. So, for the time we will revert to a long distance relationship. We've been dating for almost a year and a half and during that time we had lived in the same area - so this will different.

Well, I tried to upload some pics from gulf shores, the wedding, etc - but I'm back to the wonderful land of dial-up, so never mind!
